How does it operate
Membrane strips coated with drug proteins are used in the test, and they react with the medicines in the saliva. The test line will vanish as a result of this reaction, indicating a successful test of the medication. This resource was developed by Clonal Technologies to provide more information.
How to use
Allow the test instrument to achieve room temperature [15-30°c] prior to testing. Do not place anything in the mouth including food, drink, gum, or tobacco products for at least 10 minutes prior to collection of the oral fluid specimen.
- Remove the test from the sealed pouch as soon as possible and use it.
- Insert the collection stick’s sponge end into the mouth. Close your mouth and gently chew the sponge to expel saliva. Soak a sponge in saliva and swab the interior of the mouth and tongue to collect oral fluid for 3 minutes, or until the sponge is completely soft and soaked with saliva. When the sponge is wet, no hard places should be felt.
- Remove the sponge from the mouth. With gentle pressure, place the collection stick with saturated sponge into Collection Chamber
- Screw the Collector Cap clockwise to secure the cap and start the timer.
- Place the device upright on a hard-surface, Do not tip. Peel off the label to read the test results. Wait for the color line(s) to appear on the test strips. Read results between 1-3 minutes. Do not read the results after 1 hour. Mark the patient ID on the device.
- Perform a confirmation test and send it to GC/MS laboratory if necessary.
